Police officer fired – 5 people died
Vietnam’s police have been in crisis after deploying thousands of policemen to attack Dong Tam commune and kill a local elderly. This week, the crisis continues as an officer fired and killed five southerners
In the evening of January 30, the area of Bon Phu hamlet, Trung An commune (Cu Chi, Ho Chi Minh City), 500 police were deployed to block many roads in the areas believed that suspect Le Quoc Tuan hide. The area outside the roads is tightened and police do not allow people from entering.
From the early morning of January 30, some people reported gunfire in the area of Bon Phu hamlet, police forces with the support of military forces were quickly blocked the areas consisting of many communes in Cu Chi district.
The shooting in Cu Chi district in the country’s biggest economic hub is no different from scenes in horror movies, stirring up social and domestic public opinion
While trying to grab the vehicle, Tuan reportedly said “Give me the car. I’ve only killed so many people, I’m not afraid anymore.” At the same time, he pointed his gun to people and left a pack of money. After Tuan left the scence with the vehicle, two residents found that he left VND11 million.
At dawn on the 30th, some people on provincial road 15, Phu Thuan hamlet, Phu Hoa Dong commune, Cu Chi district, Ho Chi Minh City heard loud bangs like gunfire. At this time, people running out to check out, one man died with a bullet wound on him, the person on the photo.
Initially, the police identified the driver as a motorbike taxi driver, his motorbike also disappeared. Security cameras showed that the killer blocked many motorcycles and opened fire on many people but did not hit. When the motorbike taxi driver passed, he was killed by the police officer who took the victim’s vehicle to escape.

Mr. Le Van Hieu, 38, said that about 1 am on the same day, when he ran a car from Phu Hoa Dong commune to the area of Ben Boc bridge, he discovered a person lying on the roadside next to a motorbike, so he ran slowly to see the scene. It was the driver who was shot.
At this time, a man from the bushes along the road fired continuously at the car, intending to rob the car. The bullet pierced the glass. The piece of glass hurt Mr. Hieu’s head and chest.
In the panic, Mr. Hieu stepped on the gas pedal and drove his car straight forward. The robber continued to jump to the sidelines and fired consecutively but Mr. Hieu was lucky to escape death.
“The gun man tried to kill me but couldn’t. The windshield of the car was broken and hit me, injuring me in the head, shoulders and stomach,” Hieu said.
An old classmate of Le Quoc Tuan said he was shocked from the news. They were together in their 11th and 12th grade.
“I remember when we were in school, he was quite naughty, but playing with friends was also sociable and playable. After school, the boys in our class often gathered to drink, but when got drunk, he behaved well. He was good with friends, I had not seen him making conflict with other classmates. At that time, he was the only one in the class who could ride a motorcycle on one wheel. Whenever school was over, despite its shadow, but still heard the sound of his motorbike echoed in the distance. In class, he was nicknamed ‘anesthesiologist’ because he was the one sleeping in the classroom the most.”
Tuan’s classmate continued: “In 2012, when I was a law student going to practice in the City court, I accidentally met him and he was carrying criminal suspects to the City Court for trial. We talked with each other during the trial’s break so I know that he is an police officer of Ho Chi Minh City Police, working at Chi Hoa Detention Center. A year or two later, he held a wedding at home, inviting me to the party. When I went to his house, I knew that his parents were not officials. In 2016, I met him again at the wedding of a classmate, he was told that he had officially entered the service, became a professional police officer, was no longer a duty soldier, and was a staff of the District 11 Police Department.
Currently the young man accompanied the suspect has surrendered. It was Le Quoc Minh (aka Sida, born in 1993, living in Cu Chi district).
After Minh surrendered, Vietnamese police turned to search other areas.
Police in Tay Ninh province said the agency has strengthened its patrol force. At the same time, the police also warned the people, asking people to be alert when detecting Tuan.
Binh Duong police issued leaflets of the perpetrator picture and dispatched patrol forces to search the area adjacent to Ho Chi Minh City.
Perhaps the police force reacted too slowly, so the killer escaped.
Or maybe the Ho Chi Minh City’s service was weak, so it didn’t catch a perpetrator who was a prison police officer.
In Dong Tam case when thousands of policemen attack local people on Jan 9, three police officers reportedly died in unknown circumstances and the Ministry of Public Security blamed the local people of killing them.
Most recently, on January 28, 2020, the Federal Supreme Court of Germany issued the final decision on Trinh Xuan Thanh’s abduction, Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security headed by General To Lam, became the key suspect of the scandalous case.
Recent cases showed that Vietnam’s police forces are involved in serious scandals.
While Minister To Lam is involved in the organizing abduction abroad, his subordinates in the anti-tech crime unit organize online gambling protection while riot police instead of protecting the lives of people attacked and killed their compatriots in Dong Tam, and today we see the police officer gambled and became a serial killer.
This is a sign of the decline of the painful authoritarian Communist regime in Ba Dinh.
Those who put on a fake socialist face will have to leave so peace to return in our homeland.
